The Open University of Cyprus (OUC, est. 2002) is a distance education public university delivering teaching to students not physically present in a traditional educational setting, via a state of the art technological infrastructure and educational methodology. It offers 29 undergraduate and Master's programmes and 10 doctoral programs, in Greek and English to almost 8500 students. OUC follows the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). Some of the programs are joint with Universities in Cyprus, Greece and the USA as a result of a large network of international collaborations.
University of Ioannina is a Higher Education Institution based in Ioannina, founded in 1970. Its departments began operating in 1964 as a branch of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
CYENS is the only organization in Cyprus focusing on immersive technologies working towards empowering knowledge, and technology transfer in the region. CYENS is a joint venture of three public universities, the University of Cyprus, Cyprus University of Technology, and the Open University of Cyprus, and two international partners, Max Planck Institute for Informatics, and University College London. CYENS is funded by Horizon 2020 and the Government of the Republic of Cyprus and is coordinated by the Municipality of Nicosia.
The Cyprus Sustainable Tourism Initiative (CSTI) is a non-profit nongovernmental organization. It was established in 2006, following a 2-year long project of the Travel Foundation that created a partnership of UK leading tour operators, environmental Cypriot NGOs, the Cyprus Tourism Organization – CTO (Deputy Ministry of Tourism as of JAN19), Cyprus Travel Agents and small village producers, their communities and associations.
