A webinar was organized by OUC EMBRACE team to present the e-learning material produced by the project to secondary education teachers, following an open discussion and evaluation of the content by them.
Presentation at European University of Cyprus

The EMBRACE project materials were presented to Biology students at European University Cyprus (EUC) in the context of the Zoology class. The presentation included material from the e-learning course and the 3D butterfly e-Museum. Students discussed the importance of butterfly diversity, identification, and monitoring schemes for their conservation.
Presentation to University students-TEPAK

On 24 November 2025, the EMBRACE project materials (e-learning course, 3D butterfly e-museum, and accompanying educational activities) were presented to agronomy students, in collaboration with academic staff of the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT). The academic staff provided very positive feedback on the quality of the materials and highlighted the potential for integration into future teaching and learning activities.
Greece Multiplier Event

The EMBRACE Multiplier event for Greece took place on the 15th of November 2025, at Ioannina. During the event, participants were introduced to the EMBRACE project and its objectives and were informed about the educational material and the usage of the Virtual Butterfly Museum. Participants gained practical knowledge on butterfly monitoring and identification. They also actively contributed to an open roundtable discussion, providing feedback and evaluating the project outcomes.
Cyprus Multiplier Event

The EMBRACE Multiplier event for Cyprus took place on the 7th of November 2025, at Nicosia (RIK Events Hall). During the event, participants were introduced to the EMBRACE project and its objectives and were informed about the educational material developed within the project. They also had the opportunity to explore the Virtual Butterfly Museum through a hands-on activity (VR environment). Participants gained useful insights into the monitoring of butterflies through the replicability package. They actively contributed to an open roundtable discussion, providing feedback and evaluating the project outcomes. The event also included a field visit to Athalassa National Forest Park, where participants took part in practical butterfly identification and monitoring activities using the ButterflyCount App.
Final Online Meeting

The final meeting of the EMBRACE project took place online, with all partners sharing their progress, the pending tasks and organisation for their respective multiplier events, as well as discussing project feedback.
Presenting the EMBRACE project to summer school students

On the 15th of July 2025, students of the Solomind summer school at Limassol had the opportunity to learn about butterflies and their role in the environment through a presentation held in the context of the EMBRACE project.
Presentation and Field trip to Oros Vitsi

An event on “Getting to Know Butterflies” was organized by the Biodiversity Conservation Lab (BCL), University of Ioannina in line with the objectives of EMBRACE project. On the first day participants were introduced to the ecological importance of butterflies and key aspects of their biology, as well as methods and tools that citizens can use to support biodiversity conservation, with a particular focus on participation in the national butterfly monitoring scheme apollo. An open discussion followed. On the second day, participants took part in a field activity involving butterfly recording in mountain grasslands and practiced species recording, photographing, and butterfly identification.
Butterfly Field trip to Metsovo

A field trip focusing on butterfly monitoring in mountain ecosystems was organised by the Biodiversity Conservation Lab (BCL), University of Ioannina, in line with the objectives of EMBRACE project. During the activity, participants practiced key butterfly monitoring skills, including species observation, photographing, and identification. Following the field activity, an open discussion took place on butterflies and their role in nature, as well as the importance of citizen monitoring for their protection.
Trip at Kampi

To promote environmental awareness and in line the objectives of the EMBRACE project, an interactive event was organised by the Terrestrial Ecosystem Management Lab of the Open University of Cyprus (OUC) to Kampi natural trail. The participants were educated on the butterflies of Cyprus and their identification. The event brought together biology students, teachers, biologists and civil servants
Trip at Delikipos Dam

To promote environmental awareness and in line the objectives of the EMBRACE project, an interactive event was organised by the Terrestrial Ecosystem Management Lab of the Open University of Cyprus (OUC) to Delikipos Dam. The participants were educated on the butterflies of Cyprus, their identification and monitoring methods. The event brought together Open University of Cyprus staff, teachers, students and environmental scientists.
2nd Online Meeting

The second meeting of the EMBRACE project, which was conducted online, was attended by participants from all project partners. The progress of the project was shared and evaluated, and the next steps were reviewd. Deadlines for the next tasks were set, ensuring that the project tasks will be completed within the expected timeframe.

Τhe Kick-Off meeting of the project took place at the University of Ioannina, with participants from the project organisations. The timeline of the project, the Activities and the tasks were discussed, setting the ground for a fruitful next year of Project Activities.
